Singapore EV Charging Network Surpasses 3,000 Points as Adoption Accelerates

SH ShiokDrive Staff 30 Jun 2026

Singapore's electric vehicle charging network has reached a significant milestone, surpassing 3,000 public charging points islandwide. The Land Transport Authority (LTA) confirms the rollout is well ahead of schedule, with the national target of 60,000 charging points by 2030 increasingly within reach.

The latest expansion has focused on HDB carparks, where the majority of Singapore's vehicle population resides. Over 2,000 of the 3,000 points are located in HDB estates, addressing the primary barrier to EV adoption: access to convenient overnight charging for residents without landed property.

Fast-charging hubs at key locations — including shopping malls, petrol stations, and commercial buildings — complement the residential network. Operators like SP Group, Shell Recharge, and Charge+ continue to expand their coverage. The LTA is also piloting battery-swapping stations for electric motorcycles and light commercial vehicles, exploring alternative charging models.
