Mitsubishi has updated its compact four-door sedan aimed at budget-conscious markets. The model receives a refreshed exterior and improved safety systems.
The current Mitsubishi Attrage sedan (known as the Mirage 4G in some markets) debuted in 2013, a year after the launch of the related Mitsubishi Mirage hatchback (called the Space Star in Europe). Initially a global model, its sales geography has since narrowed. Today, the primary market for the lineup is Southeast Asia. The compacts had already undergone a previous update, and now Mitsubishi has introduced another refresh. However, this time it only affects the four-door sedan and exclusively in Thailand.
The Mitsubishi Attrage sedan gets a redesigned front end. The new grille is now concave and features a mesh pattern (the pre-facelift model had horizontal bars on the grille). The X-shaped inserts have grown larger and are now black instead of chrome. Finally, a curved trim piece has been added to the bumper.
Dimensions remain unchanged. The Thai-market Mitsubishi Attrage measures 4,305 mm in length, 1,670 mm in width, 1,515 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,550 mm. The model is offered with 14- or 15-inch wheels.
The interior has not been touched by the update. As before, the Attrage sedan is offered in two trims in Thailand. The base Active trim includes a multimedia system with a 7-inch screen, fabric upholstery, and two airbags. The Smart version adds leather upholstery, climate control, a rearview camera, and cruise control. Additionally, the top-spec Mitsubishi Attrage now features improved forward collision warning and lane departure warning systems.
The 1.2-liter three-cylinder naturally aspirated gasoline engine now meets Euro 6 standards. Power remains at 78 hp. The engine is paired with a CVT.
For Thailand, the Mitsubishi budget car lineup is produced locally. The facelifted Attrage sedan is already available for order, priced between 564,000 and 619,000 baht, equivalent to approximately 1.3 million to 1.4 million rubles at the current exchange rate.
