► Alpine A110 EV development mule revealed ► Called the ‘A110 Future’ ► On show at Goodwood Festival of Speed
Alpine has given us our best look yet at the upcoming electric A110 by revealing the first images of the development car ahead of it being shown at the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed due to start on 9 July.
The mule is known as the A110 Future, with Alpine saying the name reflects its role in ‘shaping the third generation of the A110’. The firm also promises the production car will be the ‘world’s first true EV sports car’.
The disguised development car doesn’t give too many clues to the final car’s design, instead seeming to wear similar bodywork to the outgoing A110, which ended production after nine years in late June at Alpine’s factory in Dieppe, with 28,701 being produced. The factory is now gearing up for production of the A110 EV alongside the new A390 crossover as Alpine will soon become an electric-only car firm.
The A110 Future makes its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, held between July 9 and 12, and it will be heading up the famous hill climb several times a day.
Underpinning the A110 EV is the new Alpine Performance Platform (APP) that the firm has big ambitions for in outperforming the current petrol A110. Two battery packs are positioned in the aluminium architecture in a way to keep the 40/60 front/rear balance (one over the front axle and one over the rear) of what Alpine calls a ‘true sports car’.
It will also be equipped with 800V cell-to-pack technology to reduce weight and charging times, as well as new dual rear electric motors.
Speaking last year, Alpine’s CEO Phillippe Krief said: ‘The weight target of the new A110 is below the best – the actual best – ICE cars, such as Porsche or even the Ferrari 488 Pista. Below Boxster and Cayman. 1.4 tonnes. 1.45 to be precise.’
Alpine says its presence at this year’s Festival of Speed will be its largest yet. Alongside this test mule, Alpine will show various classic models from its history and on the opening day on the Thursday will hold an ‘Alpine moment’ with a parade of cars up the hillclimb.
