The full presentation of BYD's new flagship four-door sedan will take place next week. The model will be available with hybrid or electric powertrains, and all-wheel drive is planned for the new vehicle.
The first showing of the BYD Seal 08 sedan took place in China in March this year, with its public premiere held a month later at the Beijing Auto Show. Now, BYD has announced the date for a separate, full-scale presentation of the four-door model – July 2. Prices are likely to be announced on that day. Along the way, the manufacturer has shared new official images of the sedan. As a reminder, the BYD Seal 08 is the production version of last year's BYD Ocean-S concept. The production "Eight" will become the flagship passenger car of the Ocean family.

The main highlight of the BYD Seal 08's exterior is the two-tier headlight setup. At the top are "wave-shaped" daytime running lights, with the main headlight units below. The model also features flush door handles and rear lights designed as a "wave-shaped" strip. The roof has two glass sections. The Seal 08's arsenal also includes an autopilot system with a lidar above the windshield, active suspension, and a rear-wheel steering mechanism.

The sedan's length is 5150 mm, width is 1999 mm, height is 1505 mm, and the wheelbase is 3030 mm. The trunk volume has not yet been announced.

Inside the cabin, there are separate screens for the instrument cluster and the multimedia system, along with a two-tier central tunnel. The upper part of the tunnel houses a wireless charging pad and a row of physical buttons. A box with heating and cooling functions is hidden inside the tunnel, and a touch panel is built into its end. Another screen is integrated into the folding armrest of the rear sofa. The front passenger seat backrest features a table. The seats come with footrests, heating, ventilation, and a massage function.

The sedan will be available with hybrid and fully electric powertrains. The first modification features a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine (156 hp) and a single 272-hp electric motor. The hybrid BYD Seal 08 can also be all-wheel drive, with two electric motors in this configuration delivering a combined 544 hp. According to preliminary data, the gasoline-electric four-door model is equipped with a battery capacity of 45.35 kWh, providing an electric-only range of 270 or 300 km under the WLTC cycle.

The electric version will also be offered in single-motor (347 or 435 hp) or all-wheel drive (693 hp) variants. It is also known that the "electric car" features an 800-volt architecture and is equipped with a new-generation Blade battery, plus ultra-fast charging technology. However, the battery capacity of the BYD Seal 08 EV has not yet been disclosed.
We will learn all the details about the BYD Seal 08 in a week.
