Leapmotor has launched the D99 van for sale. As usual, the new model features rich equipment and attractive prices.
The brand's first minivan with the index D99 was announced by Leapmotor back at the end of 2025, with the interior revealed in May of this year. Now, a full presentation has been held in China, the price list has been published, and sales have begun. Like other models of the brand, the van is offered as a plug-in hybrid or a full electric vehicle. Moreover, both modifications come standard with all-wheel drive.
The Leapmotor D99 minivan features a two-tier headlight design, similar to the flagship Leapmotor D19 crossover. In higher trims, a projector can be integrated into the headlights. Other exterior design features include retractable door handles and a light bar capable of displaying simple animations.
The van's length is 5280 mm, width is 1995 mm, and height varies by version from 1880 to 1900 mm. The wheelbase is the same 3110 mm as the D19 crossover. The minivan rides on 19-inch wheels.
The front section of the seven-seat cabin is identical to that of the SUV. The one-box model gets the same dashboard, steering wheel, separate instrument cluster (10.25 inches) and multimedia system (17.3 inches) screens, and a two-tier center tunnel, with a wireless charging pad and exposed cupholders on the upper level. Starting from the second-highest trim, a box with heating and cooling functions integrated into the tunnel, and a ceiling screen for rear passengers appear.
Furthermore, all versions except the cheapest have swiveling second-row seats: they automatically turn towards passengers about to enter the car, and can also be rotated to face the third row. A full-size table can be installed between the second and third rows. Another feature of the Leapmotor D99 is the foldable rear bench seat (standard). The company calls this the "fishing mode."
The standard equipment list for the Leapmotor D99 also includes: a head-up display, heating, ventilation, and massage for the first and second-row seats, fold-down tables built into the front seat backs, three-zone climate control, and an autopilot system with numerous sensors, cameras, radars, and a lidar above the windshield. Higher-end options add air suspension, extended power seat adjustments, and heated rear bench seats.
The hybrid Leapmotor D99 features an 800-volt architecture. The powertrain of this minivan includes a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine (136 hp) operating as a generator, and two electric motors that together produce 408 hp and 525 Nm. The hybrid is equipped with an 80.3 kWh battery from CATL, offering an all-electric range of 480 km under the CLTC cycle, with a total range of 1160 km.
The electric D99 uses a 1000-volt architecture, with its two motors delivering 557 hp and 625 Nm. The electric van is equipped with a 115 kWh CATL battery, providing a range of 700 km.
The hybrid will cost between 249,800 and 309,800 yuan, equivalent to approximately 2.76 million to 3.4 million rubles at the current exchange rate. The electric Leapmotor D99 minivan is priced at 259,800 to 319,800 yuan (2.87 million to 3.5 million rubles).
