Dealers in China have started collecting pre-orders. Prices for some versions of the refreshed model are already known, with the new model starting at 259,800 yuan (equivalent to approximately 2.94 million rubles at the current exchange rate).
The Chinese conglomerate Great Wall introduced a vehicle called the Wey Tank 300 in 2020, but later Tank became a separate brand for the production and promotion of off-road vehicles. It is worth noting that the "300" was already updated in the spring of 2025: the models received a revised interior and added a diesel engine to the lineup. Nevertheless, sales of the SUV in China are declining: in the first five months of 2026, fewer than 20,800 customers chose it (30.8% less than a year earlier).
Now the manufacturer has decided to update the Tank 300 again, intended for the Chinese market. This time, the SUV has received a number of exterior changes: all versions get a new black radiator grille with a mesh pattern, a large brand name inscription in the center, and a small GWM badge on the side. The headlights remain the same, but the lamps are slightly differently "integrated" into the new grille.
The SUV also gets a more massive lower part of the front bumper with integrated fog lights, as well as mounting points for winches, additional lighting, action cameras, etc. The refreshed Tank 300 comes with 18-inch wheels, with an approach angle of 38°, a departure angle of 33°, and a ramp angle of 19°. The minimum ground clearance is 235 mm, and the wading depth is 800 mm. Richer versions get a lidar on the edge of the windshield (for the Coffee Pilot 2 driver assistance system).
Inside the updated Tank 300, a different steering wheel is installed, while the front panel features the same virtual instrument cluster with a 12.3-inch diagonal, and in the center is a horizontal infotainment tablet with 2.5K resolution and a voice assistant, with a diagonal of 15.6 inches. The equipment list also includes: a 12-speaker audio system, heated steering wheel, front seats with ventilation, heating, massage, and memory functions.
The dimensions of the standard Tank 300 for China remain unchanged: its length is 4750 mm, width is 1930 mm, height is 1903 mm, and wheelbase is 2750 mm. However, a larger version has now appeared in the model lineup – the Tank 300L. Its overall length is 4886 mm, width is 1984 mm, height is 1927 mm, and wheelbase is 3010 mm.
The Tank 300 / 300L for China is offered with four powertrain options. The base version gets a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine, whose power has increased from 220 to 245 hp (maximum torque remains the same at 380 Nm). An alternative is a 2.4-liter turbo diesel (184 hp and 480 Nm). The plug-in hybrid system Hi4-T, based on a 2.0-liter engine (combined output of 421 hp and 750 Nm), remains in the lineup.
A new addition to the model is the Hi4-Z version: its setup includes a pair of electric motors (front motor power – 245 hp, rear axle motor – 272 hp), with a combined system output of 761 hp and 1195 Nm. It also includes a traction battery with a capacity of 59.6 kWh, an all-electric range of 200 km, and a total range of 1122 km. This version accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds.
Dealers in China have already started collecting pre-orders for the refreshed SUV, with live sales beginning on July 19. As of today, it is known that the Tank 300L with the Hi4-T setup is priced at 259,800 yuan (equivalent to approximately 2.94 million rubles at the current exchange rate), while the cost of the "stretched" SUV with the top-tier Hi4-Z system is 269,800 yuan (about 3.06 million rubles).
