Большой кроссовер Epicland X9 от Dongfeng и Huawei готовится к старту продаж

The Epicland brand has announced the release of its first production crossover, the X9. According to preliminary data, the SUV will be offered with a hybrid powertrain. The model will go on sale before the end of the year.

The Epicland brand (also known as Yijing in Chinese) is a project of the Dongfeng Group and Huawei. Moreover, the IT giant's portfolio includes another brand associated with this automaker. This refers to the Aito brand, which is a joint venture between Huawei and Seres, an affiliate of Dongfeng. However, unlike Aito, the Epicland brand is not part of the HIMA alliance (nor is Aistaland – a project of Huawei and GAC).

Epicland's firstborn is a large crossover with the index X9. The premiere of the pre-production sample was held in April this year at the Beijing Auto Show. The SUV was then exhibited at other events, and in May, a certificate for the crossover appeared in the database of China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. So now, the Epicland brand has announced the release of its first production SUV. At the same time, the debut full-fledged interior images have been published. However, let's first go over the exterior again.

The Epicland X9 features a design typical of many modern "Chinese" cars. At the front – a smooth panel, with active shutters built into the lower part of the bumper. Under the hood lid runs a single LED strip that serves as daytime running lights. Below it are the headlights, which are divided into two sections. The crossover also gets semi-flush door handles and a single taillight with a pixel pattern. A 896-line LiDAR is installed above the windshield. The driver assistance system is, of course, from Huawei, as is the rest of the electronics. By the way, in profile, the Epicland X9 looks very similar to the flagship Aito M9. That is, it is possible that these crossovers are related.

The length of the Epicland X9 is 5301 mm, width – 2015 mm, height – 1805 mm, wheelbase – 3120 mm. For comparison, the length of the standard updated Aito M9 is 5285 mm, and the distance between the axles is 3125 mm (this model also has a stretched version after the facelift: 5402 and 3236 mm).

The interior of the Epicland X9 is its own, not like that of the Aito crossover. Although it cannot be called revolutionary either. Inside – a three-spoke steering wheel, a two-tier central tunnel, and a giant multimedia system display consisting of two screens. The multimedia system runs on the latest generation HarmonySpace operating system from Huawei and features artificial intelligence. A touch panel for settings is built into the end of the tunnel, and rear passengers also have their own ceiling-mounted tablet. There is no conventional instrument cluster here; instead, there is a projection display with augmented reality. And it is known that the Epicland X9 will be offered in a six-seat configuration. The seats are likely to have heating, ventilation, and a massage function.

The Epicland X9 crossover is a plug-in hybrid. The powertrain includes a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine operating in generator mode. According to preliminary data, the model has all-wheel drive, but information about the electric motors is not yet available. Chinese sources write that the SUV will be offered with a battery capacity of 51.46 kWh.

The full premiere of the Epicland X9 is expected to take place in the near future. The crossover will enter the domestic market before the end of this year.
