GAC has refreshed the appearance of its hybrid crossover aimed at the domestic market. The model also received an improved suite of driver assistance systems. Additionally, the technology has been upgraded.
The plug-in hybrid crossover Trumpchi S7 in a new style was launched by GAC on the Chinese market in the spring of last year. And in March of this year, the model reached Russia – already simply as the GAC S7 (the Trumpchi brand is used only in China). At home, the crossover did not achieve success. According to local media, based on the results of January to June 2026, only 6,980 units were sold in China. For comparison, the similarly sized Aito M6 sold 10,600 units in June of this year alone. Apparently, this is why the GAC Trumpchi S7 has already undergone modernization, and today the refreshed crossover has become available for order in China.

The crossover's "face" has been redesigned. The GAC Trumpchi S7 has gained a different bumper, along with a larger air intake located in its lower part. The "interactive panel" running under the hood line remains the same, but the headlights have been placed in new housings, and they are now devoid of additional vertical LED strips.

Blue lighting has appeared in the headlights, as well as in the mirror housings and at the rear – this is a sign of the autopilot being active. By the way, the lidar above the windshield, standard for all versions except the base, is also new – it is now 192-line (previously it was 126-line). Furthermore, in all trims, the driver assistance suite now includes 12 ultrasonic radars (previously, there were 8 in the "basic" trims).

The dimensions of the S7 have not changed. Length – 4900 mm, width – 1950 mm, height – 1780 mm, wheelbase – 2880 mm. The crossover comes standard with 19-inch wheels; 20-inch wheels can be ordered for an additional cost.

The five-seat interior is largely the same. It features separate screens for the instrument cluster (8.88 inches) and the multimedia system (15.6 inches), which come as standard. The list of standard equipment also includes dual-zone climate control, heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated front seats (driver's seat also with massage function), and wireless smartphone charging. Expensive trims also include heated and ventilated rear seats. The overhead tablet (17.3 inches) for passengers is now only available in the top version.

As before, the powertrain of the GAC Trumpchi S7 includes a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with 160 hp. The electric motor located on the front axle has been upgraded: its output has increased from 231 to 272 hp. The top-tier all-wheel-drive S7 retains a separate 109-hp electric motor on the rear axle.

In all trims, the crossover is equipped with a new battery – with a capacity of 38.88 kWh, whereas the pre-facelift crossover in China had a 36.3 kWh battery. The electric-only range for front-wheel-drive versions is now 255 km according to the CLTC cycle, while the figure for the all-wheel-drive crossover is 240 km (previously 205 km and 180 km, respectively).

Excluding promotions, the updated GAC Trumpchi S7 will cost between 149,800 and 199,800 yuan, which is equivalent to approximately 1.7 million to 2.3 million rubles at the current exchange rate. On export markets, the hybrid will likely be updated only next year.
