Italian company Angelelli Automobili has announced the supercar Project 754, which will be based on a Porsche 911 from the 991 or 992 generation. The donor vehicle's structure will be optimized and lightened using artificial intelligence, resulting in performance reaching a much higher level.
There are already countless exotic conversions based on the Porsche 911 in the world, but Angelelli Automobili believes that another such new model will find its place in the exclusive car market. The Angelelli Project 754 also currently exists only in the form of renderings, but the idea itself is quite interesting. Angelelli wants to radically improve the original Porsche 911 using an innovative design system called Alien Mesh Design, based on artificial intelligence. This system analyzes the structure of the main components and assemblies of the finished car, then reconstructs them with consideration for manufacturing via 3D printers using titanium and aluminum-based alloys.
As a result of this optimization, openwork structures are produced for suspension arms, engine mounts, piston skirts, strut braces, wheels, interior parts, and much more. Angelelli estimates that the weight of the Project 754 will not exceed 1150 kg, whereas the lightest stock Porsche 911 of the current 992 generation weighs over 1450 kg.
The name Project 754 references the experimental Porsche 754 T7 coupe from the early 1960s, but conceptually has nothing in common with it. Project 754 is a modern, powerful supercar that will be produced in two versions — the rear-engine 754 R and the mid-engine 754 M. Both versions will be equipped with a modernized 6-cylinder boxer engine with a displacement of 4077.5 cm³ and a maximum output of up to 850 hp and 950 Nm. The transmission will be an 8-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic or a 6-speed manual. Acceleration to 100 km/h will take 2.3 seconds, with a top speed of 338 km/h.
The body of the Project 754 will feature new aerodynamic carbon fiber panels capable of generating up to 960 kg of downforce at a speed of 285 km/h. The lightweight suspension will be meticulously tuned. Brakes will be carbon-ceramic: front brake discs with a diameter of 420 mm (10-piston calipers), rear discs with a diameter of 390 mm (4-piston calipers). Center-lock wheels will be fitted with sport tires sized 275/35 ZR 20 at the front and 335/30 ZR 21 at the rear.
Angelelli plans to produce only 50 units of the Project 754 supercar — 25 in the 754 R version and 25 in the 754 M version, each unique and configured for a specific customer. The price of the Angelelli Project 754 R starts at €435,000, and the price of the Angelelli Project 754 M starts at €635,000, with neither price including the cost of the donor Porsche 911. Thus, the price of a fully loaded Angelelli Project 754 M could easily exceed one million euros.
