The Ferrari Luce electric liftback with chassis number 0 has received an exclusive white-toned finish. It will be sold on August 15 at the RM Sotheby's auction during Monterey Car Week (California, USA), with proceeds going to charity.
The Ferrari Luce debuted on May 25 — likely the most talked-about and simultaneously most controversial automotive premiere of 2026. The public strongly rejected the Luce's design, which is highly atypical for Ferrari, developed by the California-based studio LoveFrom under the direction of Jony Ive, who created the modern style of Apple gadgets.
Dissatisfaction with the design was compounded by a very high price: in Europe, the Luce starts at €550,000, while in the US, the starting price is around $645,000. Meanwhile, the Luce's technical specifications are rather ordinary compared to the best Chinese counterparts: a four-motor powertrain delivers 772 kW (1,050 hp) and 990 Nm, acceleration to 100 km/h takes 2.5 seconds, top speed is 310 km/h, battery capacity is 122 kWh, and range on a single charge is 530 km under the WLTP cycle.
According to insiders, the cold reception of the Luce is negatively impacting sales. Ferrari has to essentially sell its first electric vehicle as a package deal: customers who order a Luce receive in exchange priority in the queue for the most sought-after gasoline models and access to limited-edition sports cars. Nevertheless, the true market potential of the Luce will only become clear after the first full year of sales, i.e., 2027.
Meanwhile, the "zero" example of the Ferrari Luce will be sold at the RM Sotheby's auction on August 15. RM Sotheby's experts expect the price of the "zero" Luce to reach $1,100,000, with the electric vehicle being offered at auction without a reserve, meaning it will find a buyer regardless.
The "zero" example has gone through the Ferrari Tailor Made customization program. The body is painted in an exclusive semi-gloss white color called Madreperla, developed specifically for this car, capable of shifting shades from green to purple depending on the intensity and angle of the incoming light. The wheel rims, brake calipers, and Ferrari logos on the front doors are also painted white.
The interior is upholstered in Swiss metallic leather Le Mans in white Perla from the Ferrari Tailor Made collection. This leather seems to diffuse light inside the cabin, enhancing the sense of spaciousness. The steering wheel rim and the top of the dashboard are upholstered in gray Grigio Corvara leather instead of the standard black. A commemorative plaque will remind the owner of the uniqueness of this example.
The proceeds from the sale of the "zero" Ferrari Luce will go to fund The Ferrari Foundation, a charitable organization that supports various educational projects and institutions, as well as helping people living with paralysis.
