The production run of the "hot" version of the Japanese hatchback has been revealed: the company plans to sell just 730 units worldwide.
The current Toyota Corolla has a "performance" version with the GR prefix: this modification debuted in 2022, and by 2023 the hatchback received its first technical upgrade, followed by another update a year later. The hot hatch, intended for the domestic market, was refreshed again in September 2025, with changes affecting the body, engine cooling system, and acoustics. Recently, a new "hot" modification has been announced – the Toyota GRMN Corolla.

Earlier, Kolesa.ru reported that the Japanese company planned to release this variant in a limited edition, but the exact number was not specified by the manufacturer. Now, the brand's American office has announced that a total of 730 units of the GRMN Corolla will be assembled, which Toyota intends to sell worldwide. Each car will feature a badge indicating its series membership.

Additionally, the price of the limited-edition hot hatch has been revealed. In the US, it will cost at least $64,360, which is equivalent to approximately 5.14 million rubles at the current exchange rate. For comparison, the price of a "standard" Toyota GR Corolla hatchback currently ranges from $40,520 to $46,565 (about 3.24 to 3.72 million rubles).

As a reminder, the Toyota GRMN Corolla was developed by engineers from the GR (Gazoo Racing) sports division. It features an aggressive aerodynamic body kit made of carbon fiber, which increases downforce at high speeds and improves cooling for the engine and brakes. The hood has an additional transverse vent, and the front fenders feature ventilation "louvers" above the wheel arches. Additionally, an adjustable rear spoiler is mounted on the tailgate.

To reduce weight, the developers removed the rear seats from the GRMN Corolla, while new front seats are installed – in the US version, they are more sporty but similar in shape to the standard ones (whereas the Japanese hot hatch gets full bucket seats). The dashboard of the new model is trimmed in suede and features an embroidered Morizo signature: as we noted earlier, this is the racing pseudonym of Akio Toyoda, Chairman of the Board of Toyota and the leading figure of the GR performance sub-brand.

The Toyota GRMN Corolla features a revised suspension: it comes with special adjustable monotube shock absorbers with powerful rebound springs for maximum wheel-to-road contact, as well as a recalibrated electric power steering system and an all-wheel-drive system with a rear-axle power take-off coupling. The hot hatch is fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires in size 245/40 ZR18 (10 mm wider than those on the "standard" GR Corolla hatchback).

Under the hood of the new model is an upgraded 1.6-liter gasoline turbocharged three-cylinder engine, the G16E-GTS. Its power remains unchanged at 304 hp, while the maximum torque has been increased from 400 to 410 Nm. The engine is paired exclusively with a six-speed manual transmission.
Sales of the Toyota GRMN Corolla in the US market will begin in late summer 2026. It is known that buyers will be able to participate in a professional-level driving training program (designed for one year).
